The garden design features several distinct areas, each serving a specific function. The owners have long wanted to build a sauna on the site, but it seemed that there was no space for it. We found a solution to build the sauna against a wall of the house. This achieves another goal – to block the direct view of the plot from the road. The terrace of the house continued along the sauna on one level. There is a raised podium that aligns with the terrace and is slightly elevated above the pathways. This is the place for a portable pool that is only installed for the summer season.
Behind the pool area there are high beds for herbs and strawberries. The pomegranate mountain ash creates a small diffused shade here, with wild strawberries growing in its tree circle.
Behind the small vegetable garden we left a free space that can be used as a children’s playground or as a place for a fire pit area. It features a gravel surface, logs, and stones that can serve as seating. A wooden screen of narrow slats encloses the garden from the barbecue area under a shared roof with the garage.
Surrounding the main garden space are various plants and trees, creating a lush environment. An area labeled “resting place” is designed for relaxation, featuring a lawn, a bench, or a small pond for the wildlife shaded by a beautiful crab apple tree.
In addition to the main paved path, a curly walkway has been laid through the garden. It was divided into several sections, each with its own surface – pebbles, soft clover and circular tree trunk slices. The result is a health path providing a varied walking experience, that is so pleasant to run barefoot from the terrace through the garden.
Overall, the garden layout is functional and aesthetically pleasing, combining practical elements with natural beauty to create a harmonious outdoor space.
